Panthers U12s and U14s Kick-off Season in Dundee

Panthers U12 and U14 squads travelled down to Dundee to take part in the annual Laura Turnbull Trophy Tournament, hosted by Dundee Madsons, on Sunday, August 27.

Panthers U12s enjoyed three very close games against tough opposition.  All players showed great promise for the season ahead, with great passing, team work and defence. Panthers newest player, Cailean McAllister, was particularly impressive at both ends of the court. As was Becca Milne, who picked up the award for “Team Spirit”.

Well done to all the U12 players: Fraser, Abdul, Jameel, Luke, Balfour, Becca and Cailean, and to Coach, Jackie Bruce. The U12s will be back in action at the RDL on 16th September at Mearns Academy, Laurencekirk.

Panthers U14s suffered a heavy loss in the first game against the hosts, and eventual winners, Madsons. In the next two games, which were both against West Lothian Wolves, things began to come together. There was some great passing and movements off the ball.

In the end, it was three tough losses for Panthers, however, there definitely were some positives to come out of it. U14 coach, Jamie Leese, is confident that the boys will learn from these results and that they will work hard in preparation the season ahead.

The U14s have one more friendly, on the 10th of September, against Fraserburgh Storm before the RDLs kick off at the Aberdeen Beach Leisure Centre on the 17th of September.
