Last night was the second of two friendlies for the Panthers Senior Women against Granite City Flames. After a 30-point defeat last week, Panthers had a point to prove.
The first half saw Zoe Slessor and Caitlin Robbie take control scoring fast break lay ups and open jump shots to finish an evenly matched half with the panthers down 16-23. In the second half the panthers upped their defence with Silvana Frings and Linsi Dalgetty grabbing steals and rebounds and advancing the ball up the court for fast break points.
In the last 10 seconds of the game, Panthers found themselves down by 3 points. Caitlin had an open three to tie the game but unfortunately, the shot didn’t drop and the flames grabbed the rebound to run the clock out of the game.
