RDL 3 Round Up

With three tough matches at the weekend, the Panthers U10’s played exceptionally well. The team is coming together and getting better with every game. Panthers had tough games vs Flyers and Madsons, although the result did not go our way, coaches from the opposing team were positive about the progress shown by Panthers. The most excitement came during our second game against Arduthie Primary, which went into overtime. With an extra 2 minutes on the clock, Jameel Okin was able to get free with an excellent display of dribbling and scored to give Panthers the win.

Panthers U12s were fantastic this weekend showing great improvement in all 3 matches. The team work was phenomenal led by Fraser Sim, his sharp passing and quick decision making helped Panthers score some great baskets. In game 1 vs Flyers, Cailean McAllister couldn’t miss on the fast break, making excellent runs up the court and finishing with style. What kept us in the game was our defence, the determination shown by each and every player showed on court as Flyers were unable to break us down. Debutant David Abolade contained his player, stepping in and playing help getting many steals throughout the game. Game 2 vs Muskies Girls saw Callum Stevenson find his shot in his first week back from injury. Confident drives from Abdul, Fraser and Balfour led us to a comfortable win. In Game 3 Panthers started slow against a polished Madsons squad but some superb defence from Hollie Holland, stopped their biggest threat on multiple occasions. Robbie Stark’s excellent decision making led to Panthers scoring. Although Panthers suffered 2 defeats the margin of those defeats is shrinking. Bring on the next RDL!

Pumas U12s had a great RDL at the weekend in Laurencekirk; showing great defence and determination against some very tall opposition!

Tall opposition for our youngest Pumas!

With a couple of young and inexperienced players in the Pumas team, they pulled together, helping and supporting each other, and with a little more work on spacing in offence, quicker decision making – I know the team will keep improving (also noted by coaches from Forfar and Madsons).
